For sale is a Vintage Yamaha SD-550MA snare drum from the 1980's. This is a very solidly built vintage drum for a very affordable price.
This 8-lug 5x14" chrome over steel snare is in great shape for its age, showing minimal signs of wear on the drum. All chrome parts are cleaned and shined, with minimal pitting.
Serial No. LI-0806 (Manufactured May 1985)
I currently have this drum tuned up rather high, a tuning in which I have found the drum seems to like. This tuning fits it very well, with the drum having a nice high pitched ring without being choked, although I'm sure the drum would take to lower tunings effectively as well.
Compared to other available listings of this vintage Japanese snare, I have priced mine competitively to facilitate a quick sale.
