Early 1965-66 Gibson EB-3, short scale base

550xxx serial # put's this bass around 1965-66. Added photo of control cavity showing CTS pots dated 196? however Gibson factory worker soldered over the rest of the number so I’m putting this between 65 and 66 based on some information from a good Samaritan :)

There is some tarnish on the pick up pot, but it does not seem to be causing any issues. That was a little dirty, but by exercising it it cleared up right away, see photos for detail.

Also, this has the shorter that’s known for the same era.

The Previous Owner was a famous Pop Artist in the late 60-70's as well as TV appearances.

Bass sounds and plays great, he did modify the nut and then put paper between the strings and the nut. I kept it in this set up just in case the next owner is a fan of his or is interested in this set up.

Excellent condition (see photos) and comes with its original case, looks like it was taken to some fly dates as there are old airline tags on the handle.
