If you’re looking for a huge, nasty, flexible fuzz that does everything from thick sustaining leads to massive wall-of-sound rhythm tones, the Swollen Pickle is a classic for a reason. This “Smalls” version keeps the big personality of the original but puts it in a much more pedalboard-friendly enclosure.

You get the main Loudness, Sustain, and Filter controls, plus the Scoop and Crunch switches for dialing in the midrange and compression feel. The Scoop switch can carve out the mids for big, heavy power chords, while the Crunch switch lets you change the compression intensity. Flip both switches down and you’re in the classic three-knob Swollen Pickle setup.

This pedal can get smooth, thick, woolly, aggressive, sputtery, or completely over-the-top depending on how you set it. Basically, if you want a fuzz with personality and plenty of range, this little box has it.
