Good condition 1938 Gibson L-00 in ebony. This example is very loud and open in the mid range, while maintaining the sweet and mellow high end tone that has become very famous with these models. This example has received a recent refret, a neck reset, a swapped bridge, and all of the visible top and back cracks have been properly glued and cleated. Original pickguard is still in great shape, but has seen some weather as can be seen in some slight lifting near the sound hole. The original black finish has some very nice checking happening throughout the entire body and neck. Action is nice and low and this example plays very nicely all the way up the neck. Obvious play wear on the back and neck, but for good reason. This is one the less boxy sounding examples of a 30’s L-00 I’ve played, which I personally tend to favor. Neck is nice and chunky without being hard to play at all. Original tuner spin well and hold tune nicely. Comes with a well worn in faux gator case as pictured, but will discuss better case options with the buyer if requested. Willing to ship or drive a reasonable distance. Always open to offers!
