The DOD FX69B Grunge is an aggressive, analog, high-gain distortion pedal released in 1998 as an update to the original 1993 FX69. Designed in the USA, it is famous for its extreme scooped-mid saturated tone and irreverent 90s aesthetic.

• High-Gain Focus: It simulates an amplifier pushed to twelve, delivering massive low-end response and thick sustain.
• The "Secret" Setting: While it is mostly known as a one-trick heavy distortion box, players find sweet spots by rolling the Grunge (gain) knob way back and pushing the front end of an amplifier.
• Legacy: Despite a polarizing reputation, its core circuit was integrated into several classic Equipboard designs, and an original unit was notably stage-played by Kurt Cobain.
