Instructions:

Step 1: Cut along the lines where you want to separate the parts, being careful not to damage them.

Step 2: Soak the sticker in the prepared clean water for about 15 seconds, then remove it. (Do not soak for

too long; the transfer film should slide easily on the backing paper.)

Step 3: Press the sticker onto the headstock, then peel off the backing paper, leaving the transfer film in place. Smooth out any wrinkles and remove moisture and air bubbles. (Do not apply excessive force; gently smooth the surface and use a paper towel to blot away moisture.)

Step 4: Allow to air dry overnight, then peel off the plastic film—the lettering will remain on the headstock. Step 5: If you’re handy, you can spray paint over the design yourself.

Notes:

1. The decal must be applied to a headstock that has been primed. If applied directly to bare wood, adhesion will be poor, and the decal may tear when peeled off. Also, avoid surfaces with wax or other

slippery substances, as this will impair adhesion.

2. Some headstocks may have oil or wax on them; wipe them down with water and dish soap before applying the decal.

3. For baked maple headstocks, if the primer coat is thin, do not wipe the surface completely dry before applying the sticker. Gently press it down with a paper towel. Once applied, use a hair dryer to dry it. Wait at least three days before peeling off the backing. When peeling, try to do so slowly from right to left.

4. In cold climates, it’s also best to use a hair dryer on the hot setting to dry the sticker after application and wait as long as possible before peeling it off.
