You're looking at a set of 1979 Gibson T-Top Humbuckers with original mounting screws and springs. T-Top pickups were one of Gibson’s best attempts at recreating the unmistakable late 50s PAF tone.
T-Tops are revered for their warm, articulate lows, open mid-range, and bright highs. Fantastic for both clean and over-driven settings.
One is ink stamped “APR 25 1979” and the other is ink stamped “APR 28 1979”. They both have the "T" on the bobbins.
These fantastic pickups also come with their original screws and springs.
This set has the longer legs—the person I bought them from took them from a Les Paul. I have had them for a while and never used them. (I had intended to use them to replace the ceramics in my LP classic).
The ohms are 7.74 and 7.78 with leads lengths are 5.25” and a short 2.25”. I can include an extra 7" lead i have if you want for the short one.
Cool side note: theses T-Tops have the white spacers found on the coveted Tim Shaws. Many later T-Tops had this feature!
These T-Tops sets are becoming hard to find.
I have priced these fantastic pickups a little below reverb market price to move them a bit quicker as I am looking to buy a couple of boutique Firebird pups. Feel free to ask me any questions and/or send me a reasonable offer. Thanks for looking.
