The MC 834 is a general-purpose studio condenser microphone, suitable for instrument or vocal recording. It has a fixed cardioid pickup pattern. Onboard switches provide a 3-way pad (-10dB, -20dB, 0dB) and a 3-way high-pass filter (flat, -6dB @ 80Hz or 160Hz). The mic requires phantom power, but can operate at as low as 11V (presumably with some loss of sensitivity and SPL capability).
