This is a pair of used Tannoy NFM-8 DMT studio monitors. They’ve been used as exactly that: monitors in a studio setup.
They have the gold seal on them; these are apparently the top Tannoy products.
The monitors are dual concentric. They have Tannoy warmth with rich quality top end. They have a highly accurate coaxial design with a good stereo image and well-balanced frequency response. They're pretty unforgiving of poor recordings – but that’s part of the appeal in a studio / mixing /mastering setting. They also play loud without the distortion that trips up a lot of hi-fi speakers at volume.
They can be mounted horizontally or vertically, and they’re very physically robust.
