1996 Fender Custom Shop '60s Reissue Stratocaster NOS – Lake Placid Blue – COA
Make an offer on this 1996 Fender Custom Shop '60s Reissue Stratocaster NOS in the iconic and desirable Lake Placid Blue finish with gold hardware. Weight is 7 lbs. 13.9 oz.
This dates from the John Page golden era of the Fender Custom Shop -- a period when Custom Shop production was comparatively limited and craftsmanship was largely hand-driven.
Pickups and electronics are 100% original except the lower tone control is wired to the bridge pickup.
As the photos show, the neck figuring is a particular standout on this guitar.
The guitar was professionally refretted in 2023 with medium jumbo frets, and the frets show practically no wear. It plays like a dream.
The NOS ("New Old Stock") finish has a few nicks and dings, consistent with having been played over the last 30+ years -- but by no means abused. Pictures show the few dings and paint chips. The back trem cover is included with all original screws.
A replacement Fender Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity is included.
The sale includes a non-original genuine Fender-branded Custom Shop G&G tweed hardshell case. The case has a small punch hole in the back as shown. The guitar parted company with its case candy long ago.
The neck is full but very comfortable. It is a tone monster -- full and thick mids, smooth highs, and tons of sustain.
Shipping is a flat $100 in the CONUS. No international shipping.
