Hello,
I’m offering for sale this beautiful fretless Precision Bass, assembled exclusively with high-end components.
It features an original 1977 Fender Precision fretless neck, made from birdseye maple and finished with the original polyurethane lacquer in the classic Jaco style. The body is made by Franchin Guitars, crafted and finished in Italy. It is very lightweight and resonant, with a particularly successful Black Over Sunburst finish. The relic’d black pickguard is also from Franchin. The bass weights 3,94 kg (8,68 lbs).
The pickup is a Delano Quarter Pound, delivering plenty of punch and dynamics—perfect for fretless playing, with a very Joe Dart-inspired tone. The electronics feature an all-CTS wiring harness, paired with a capacitor from Lux Caps.
As for the hardware, it is equipped with Hipshot tuners, including a D-Tuner (the tuner alone costs €157!), a relic’d Gotoh bridge, a Fender pickup cover, and a Fender bridge cover as well. The bridge cover was removed for the photos but is included in the sale.
The bass has been professionally set up and is currently strung with La Bella White Nylon Flatwounds in 50–115 gauge, which feel closer to a 45–100 set.
There is over €2,200 worth of parts in this instrument. A neck from the same year recently sold for €1,000. I’m fully aware that partscaster-style instruments can be more difficult to sell, but given how well this bass turned out, it would be a shame to part it out. It’s an absolute joy to play, everything works together perfectly, and it looks fantastic too!
Thanks,
Lucas
Bonjour,
Merci,
Lucas
