Studer A80-VU II 1/2" 2-Track Master Recorder + 1/4" Headstack | NAB | 15/30 IPS

For sale is a Studer A80-VU II 2-track mastering recorder in very clean, fully operational condition.

The machine is currently configured as a 1/2" 2-track recorder and also includes a complete 1/4" headstack assembly. NAB EQ, 15/30 IPS, 120V operation.

Transport functions are solid and reliable:

• Play
• Stop
• Fast forward
• Rewind
• Speed stability

The machine was calibrated in January 2026 and has remained in intermittent studio use throughout my ownership rather than sitting unused in storage.

The machine powers on properly, holds speed correctly, and is operating as expected with no known transport or audio faults.

Heads are in very good condition with no heavy or unusual wear visible. Close-up photos of both the installed 1/2" headstack and included 1/4" headstack assembly are included in the listing.

Provenance: I purchased this machine approximately 12 years ago from Duncan Rowe / Primal Gear in Nashville. At the time of purchase, the machine was represented to me as having previously belonged to Bearsville Studios. A Bearsville Studios asset label remains attached to the rear panel.
