There's something deeply satisfying about a pedal that doesn't try to be everything — just one thing, done with maximum conviction. The MXR Zakk Sabbath Overdrive is exactly that: a limited edition bruiser dressed in a finish inspired by Zakk Wylde's Black Sabbath tribute project, built to deliver the same crushing, high-gain tones that have made him one of the most recognizable voices in heavy metal. Zakk Wylde's sound is not subtle. It's massive pinch harmonics, walls of sustain, and riffs that feel like they're physically pushing you backward. This pedal was voiced specifically around that approach — the kind of tone you get when a Les Paul loaded with EMGs meets a cranked Marshall and neither one backs down. Stick it in front of a dirty amp and it doesn't just add gain, it transforms the whole character of your rig into something heavier, thicker, and meaner. Sustain hangs in the air long after your pick leaves the string. Chords churn with that tight, chunky crunch that makes a heavy riff feel like it has actual weight behind it. The control layout is refreshingly no-nonsense: Output, Tone, and Gain — and that's it. No menus, no hidden parameters, no tap-dancing through options. Dial in your level, shape the top end, and push the gain wherever you need it. It responds well to how hard you're picking, so there's still some dynamic feel even when you're deep into high-gain territory. The Zakk Sabbath finish sets this one apart visually, too. It's a nod to Zakk's ongoing tribute to the band that essentially invented the genre he's spent his career honoring — Black Sabbath. It's not just cosmetic flair; it gives the pedal a specific identity that feels earned. This one's limited, so if the combination of Wylde-approved tone and a one-of-a-kind look speaks to you, don't sit on it too long. --- **Specifications:** - **Brand:** MXR - **Model:** Zakk Sabbath Overdrive - **SKU / Model Number:** WA44ZS - **Type:** Overdrive Pedal - **Edition:** Limited Edition - **Finish:** Zakk Sabbath Special Edition Graphics - **Controls:** Output, Tone, Gain - **Voicing:** Custom-voiced for Zakk Wylde
