Selling my Cocoquantus 2, the hand-built lo-fi sampling instrument designed by Peter Blasser of Ciat-Lonbarde. Purchased new in 2023 and in excellent working order — it's a beautiful, one-of-a-kind wooden beast and these don't come up for sale often.
For anyone unfamiliar: the Cocoquantus is two independent 8-bit digital delay/loopers (the "Coco" sections) wrapped around a central five-oscillator analog chaos brain known as the Quantussy. The Cocos capture and mangle sound — anywhere from sub-second stutters to roughly a minute of recording depending on playback speed, with knob and CV control over speed, which means pitch and time bend together in gorgeously unstable ways. The Quantussy's five oscillators run at LFO, audio, and sub rates and are predisposed to chaotic, self-modulating relationships, giving you endless modulation sources for clock, flip, skip and speed-affect on the Cocos.
There's a dedicated input section with mic/piezo/line and an envelope follower, the signature verso/inverso banana jacks (add to or subtract from a knob's position), the Dolby gating switches per Coco, and the touch-sensitive Cercel nodes. The 8-bit character means it has its own grit and noise floor by design — that's the sound, not a fault.
Perfect for experimental, drone, ambient, noise, and texture work. It's as much a collaborator as an instrument.
Includes: 12V power adapter only — no patch cables or other accessories. Note that patching requires banana cables (not 3.5mm), so factor that in if you're new to Ciat-Lonbarde.
