Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.
You are looking at a older, quality Atlas studio floor stand from the 1960's / 70's era Atlas. It's the BS-36W model based on the more common MS-25 microphone floor stand built in Parsippany, NJ and was the top of the line model in the Atlas Corp line up. This entire unit was disassembled and cleaned.
This midcentury American made stand is built like a tank and was an outstanding choice for just about any on stage or studio situation giving the user quite a bit of height and length to work with. It comes with the larger original boom arm, Atlas CH-1 "cable hanger" and the Atlas SW-1 swivel that attaches to that very boom arm so that you can get any angle needed with your microphone.
Pic # 2 is from an old 1960's era Atlas catalog showing this very mic stand and it's basic characteristics. The BS-36W was basically an upgraded MS-25 model as the BS-36W has the rolling wheels and the larger top boom.
The BS-36W is a real beast weighing in at 40 pounds and had an adjustable height of 42 inches low to 72 inches tall giving you more than enough height to work with and with the boom arm on top you have an extra 2 feet of length upwards or out to the side. It makes for a very stable floor stand. If you have a heavier larger mic like a Shure 55 or RCA 77DX then I would suggest using this model for peace of mind.
This stand shows just lite typical wear but it's still in very nice overall condition and the top boom arm, SW-1 and CH-1 are all just as nice as the stand itself.
The chrome on the upper riser has just very lite scratches. The lower chrome riser has just a tiny bit more but the original Atlas decal is still present despite years of use. The clutch mechanism to lower the top riser works accordingly and in very nice condition. The cast iron base is very nice with original dark grey paint but you can see there is very lite signs of discoloration on the bottom. No fractures or paint chips. All 3 rollers / wheels are in excellent condition with zero issues and they bolt right onto the base as they were designed.
Again, this stand will accept any screw on mic or mic clip you have.
Overall this stand is an easy 8 on a scale of 1 - 10. I'm very picky though. Others would probably find it much nicer or worse.
The upper boom arm is the larger model that is extremely rugged. Comes with the larger cast iron counterweight, joint mechanism and a nice SW-1 swivel. All items show very lite wear but work perfectly.
The original Atlas CH-1 cable hanger is mounted to the bottom riser of the stand and helps to collect any access cable you don't want getting in the way. It shows lite wear but works perfectly.
This is going to be an excellent stand to use anywhere in the home, studio or stage.
