FREE SHIPPING • FULLY RECAPPED MAIN BOARD AND PANEL BOARD • ALL NEW TACTS • NEW DISPLAY • NEW POWER SWITCH • NEW PSU • NEW BATTERY

Access Virus B Desktop digital synthesizer in excellent condition. This unit marks a new era for the shop as it is the first fully recapped Virus B we are releasing into the wild. In addition to a complete main board and panel board recap, we've made several other upgrades to bring this unit as close to like-new condition as possible.

This synth has been fully inspected by Captain Black's Gear Emporium. We specialize in synths worth owning and hard to find parts.

Details below:

• All capacitors on the main board and panel board have been replaced with modern equivalents that were carefully selected to match the characteristics of the original caps from 25+ years ago. See photo 19.
• All 30 tact switches have been replaced with high-quality, brand-name tact switches rated for 3 million clicks. They are soft-touch and very close in feel and sound to the original tact switches. See photo 20.
• 7 rotary potentiometers have been replaced. All remaining pots have been tested and confirmed good. All are smooth and function flawlessly. Resistance is generally the same between the replacement and original pots.
• The LCD display has been replaced with a modern display that closely matches the original OEM colors. Backlight bleed has been addressed, so no internal light spill shines through adjacent push buttons.
• The power switch has been replaced, eliminating another common failure point on the Virus B desktop series.
• Ships with a high-quality 9V 2.0A power supply that provides more reliable operation than the original 12V 1.0A supplies these units originally shipped with. The lower voltage also allows the unit to run noticeably cooler, especially during extended sessions.
• The battery has been replaced with an Energizer CR2032 lithium cell. You should not need to replace the battery for ~10 years.
• Updated to the latest OS (4.9).
• We have cleaned the unit thoroughly inside and out. Even the knobs have been cleaned and look nearly new. No white or greasy buildup like you commonly see on Viruses from this era.
• The right main out is slightly longer than all the others. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect the usability of the instrument in any way. We could swap in a matching output, but it's not worth the trauma to the board to address a non-issue (replacing an output requires removal of the backplate, and that's a lot of solder joints to hit {twice}).
• The overall look of this instrument is very clean, but it is not perfect. Please examine all photos carefully, as we have done our best to document the condition.

This unit will be shipped free and fully insured via Reverb Safe Shipping. This means a signature is required for delivery.

As always, we have a deep love for all things Virus and have poured our hearts into this one. With all the restoration and maintenance work done, this beautiful B is well prepared for its next owner.
