Hamm's was the brand I grew up with back in Minnesota, sustained me through college, and prompted me to start home brewing years ago. I'm also a hobbyist guitar builder over the last several years, so I thought it would be fun to make a guitar honoring that heritage.
I found an image of a can online and had my friend at a sign shop make a digital print of it. I applied that to a sheet of thin plastic, transferred that outline to a nice chunk of Basswood and cut, filed & sanded it to match exactly. The Basswood body and Maple neck are finished in Tru-Oil and buffed with a white Scotchbrite pad; they're smooth.
It's a fully functional electric, with a couple of unique features- a working bottle opener for the tailpiece, and Hamm's bottle caps for knobs. It has a Telecaster pickup, a roller tune-o-matic bridge, 250k pots and the neck is 25 1/2" scale. It plays & sounds great, and would make a fun addition to a Hamm's collector, a tavern, or your man cave. Makes a great gift!
Will ship to the lower 48, and is also listed in the Portland OR area.
