Up for sale is my DeCava Guitars | OM Special | Ser. #2010 | 5/08 | Brazilian Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce | Signed by: James DeCava ; essentially a slighter deep body OM , with a solid Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and a solid Adirondack Spruce top with a beautiful rich golden hued aging toner.

This build is an exquisite rich tonewood and handsome aesthetic! This guitar is all Acoustic.

My sales are very controlled by myself only as I am a private seller and not a store shop, so if the guitar is up for sale on Reverb then it is available for purchase; the guitar shipped to you will be exactly the one in the advertisement pictures. Once I list a guitar for sale on reverb it is not used or touched again unless there is a seller's reason to do so.

I give this guitar two thumbs up for it's very powerful and balanced acoustic tone ; the resonance of this guitar will easily challenge a larger body instrument ; I play only fingerstyle guitar and this one has a really solid great feel and tone to it.

I suspect i am not the original owner of this guitar several years now , which I had purchased it direct from DeCava Guitars ; however it has little play time on it - my reason for selling is to thin the herd.

I'm a man-cave player , so this beautiful OM Special has never been out of my home , and unless played , it's in the case , in my temp/humidity controlled environment.

It is in Excellent condition, no scratches, no dings, and may find only the faintest micro swirling - just 'cause that's the way i keep all my instruments. I am going to rate this 'Excellent' condition also because it is aged really well ; and the Brazilian Rosewood has a couple of superficial cosmetic "line marks" that had formed running parallel to the wood grain , only at the very surface level of the Rosewood [not uncommon for Rosewoods in my experience] , and were there when i had received the guitar ; one at the lower bout and the other at the back and are clearly shown in the pics ; these are not a crack nor split nor structural defect in any way.

This guitar has amazing construction , wood selection and specs for the price , with some of the key features being...

- 14 fret body join with a 12th fret script pearl inlay marker

- bone bridge pins , nut and saddle

- Ebony fretboard with stainless steel frets

- C shape neck carve with gloss finish

- flame maple wood body bindings to accent , and multiple black/white purfling

Using digital calipers the nut width is 1" &3/4" and string spacing at the saddle is 2" &1/8" outside to outside on the E strings. Scale length 25" &3/8"

OM model body depth / width...

Lower bout depth at the end = 4" &1/4"

Lower bout width 15" &1/8"

Upper body depth at the neck = 3" &15/16"

Upper bout width 11" &1/4"

I would describe the neck as a fast yet full feeling C shape , with a wider nut to be very comfortable for fingerstyle which is what I play ; It is also a very smooth high gloss nitrocellulose finish.

As for the radius I give it a bit more curvature than a 12 inch , somewhere along the feel of a 335 style jazz guitar [like the fretboard on the D'Angelico guitar i have listed] ; I don't have the instrument to measure this exactly.

It also comes with a premium Larrivee HS 'Gator' case with crushed green velvet interior ; i bought this separately new for this guitar and the fit is perfect ; comes with one case lock key.

The guitar will be in the exact condition i have advertised it and all the pics are taken the same day this adv. was posted.

My asking price is set reasonable , therefore i will not consider a best offer at this time with the price reduction , which is already several points better than reasonably good.

If you are within Canada I can work out an exact shipping rate with liability coverage via Canada Postal service (is the only carrier i personally will deal with as i have a business account) ; [I will only do an estimate if the interest is serious about the purchase and will pay the shipping via an e-transfer exact amount , so you won't get dinged another set of sales taxes on Reverb , and I won't get dinged the reverb fee atop all that!]

This guitar is available for Local Pick-up in the Greater Toronto Area ; Meeting will need to be arranged at a pre-agreed area inside of a major mall within the GTA only.

Local Pick-up will require a $1000 deposit fee paid in advance via an e-transfer prior to meeting ; this will help ensure a commitment to complete the purchase ; the full amount deposit fee will be deducted from the listed selling price in the final payment.

Reverb is an On-line sales platform ; some have gotten the wrong idea that meeting is to have an opportunity to "try" the guitar to make a decision whether to purchase ; not so ; the only reason for meeting is to complete the transaction at the advertised sale price , also no re-negotiating the price ; and to give the buyer an opportunity to pay only for the guitar list price yet excluding the shipping cost and the obligatory platform sales taxes. There will be no handling of the guitar until it is paid for in full ; there are plenty of pictures and instrument information here in the advertisement to help with a decision to purchase. No Trades. This is a private sale and not a store shop.

This is a private sale but sales taxes are collected by Reverb on behalf of the CDN government via new rules for on-line sales for CDN residents.
