Rare vintage Gun 4x12 cabinet made in New Zealand and loaded with four original matching Philips AD1256-HP8 speakers.
This is not your typical vintage 4x12.
The cabinet retains its original Philips speaker complement, featuring four matching AD1256-HP8 cast-frame drivers. These speakers are becoming increasingly difficult to find, particularly as a complete matched quad in original working condition.
Unlike the pressed-steel frames commonly found in many production speakers of the era, these Philips drivers feature heavy cast alloy baskets and were built to professional standards. They are known for their efficiency, clarity, huge clean headroom and excellent note definition.
For players looking for something different from the usual Celestion-loaded cabinet, these Philips drivers occupy their own unique space, delivering exceptional articulation, strong low-end response and impressive projection.
Features:
• Original Gun New Zealand 4x12 cabinet
• Four matching Philips AD1256-HP8 speakers
• Original cones
• Cast-frame Philips drivers
• Closed-back design
• All speakers functioning correctly
• No cone damage
• Vintage plywood construction
The cabinet presents in honest vintage condition with cosmetic wear, marks and some lifting tolex consistent with age, but remains structurally sound and completely usable.
The speakers alone are increasingly difficult to source and are the real highlight of this cabinet.
Also available separately is my MI Audio Revelation 100 flagship hand-built Sydney amplifier. Buyers interested in the complete rig can purchase both together at a discounted package price.
A rare opportunity to acquire a unique piece of Australasian guitar gear history.
