API 2500 Stereo Bus Compressor

Selling my API 2500 stereo bus compressor.

The API 2500 is a classic stereo VCA compressor used on mix bus, drum bus, guitars, bass, vocals, parallel compression, and mastering. It is known for punch, glue, movement, and the ability to go from subtle bus control to aggressive API-style smack.

This has been used in my professional studio setup and sounds excellent. It mainly lived on my mix bus, where it did the thing great bus compressors are supposed to do: make a track feel more finished, more locked in, and more like a record. It is one of those pieces that can add that “now it sounds like a finished song” energy more than most other items in a studio.

It can make a drum bus jump forward, tighten a mix, or add energy without feeling dull or flat. The THRUST circuit is a big part of the magic, letting the low end stay solid while the compressor reacts musically. When driven harder, it can also take on a saturated, harmonically exciting quality that is hard to replicate ITB.

Everything works properly. Cosmetically it shows normal rack/studio wear, but nothing that affects function. See photos.
