VEMURAM Jan Ray – Early Version (Serial #1716) – Excellent Condition

Up for sale is an early serial VEMURAM Jan Ray, serial number 1716.

This is from an earlier production run, often appreciated for its tone, feel, and build quality. Early serial units are often regarded by players as having a slightly more open and dynamic response, and I personally noticed this subtle difference when comparing it within my own rig. The pedal is fully functional and sounds exactly as it should.

Condition:

- Excellent overall condition

- Minor cosmetic signs of use (see photos)

- No functional issues

Tone:

The Jan Ray is a benchmark transparent overdrive, known for its exceptional touch sensitivity and dynamic response. It excels at edge-of-breakup and low-to-medium gain tones, adding clarity and harmonic richness without masking your core tone.

It pairs beautifully with clean and already driven amps, preserving dynamics while adding subtle saturation and depth.

Reason for sale:

I’ve recently restructured my rig around amp-based gain staging, so I’m letting go of pedals I no longer use — not because of any issue with the pedal itself.
