For your consideration is a Wolf Devices “The Wolf Machine” (Zonk Machine MK1 clone).
This unit is Wolf Devices build #226

I am the original owner of The Wolf Machine. I purchased this unit directly from Wolf Devices in summer 2025.

This is an awesome Zonk clone! I think Wolf Devices original description of this unit sums it up best…

“The Wolf Machine- Pure, uncompromising Fuzz! The Wolf Machine captures the essence of the original Zonk Machine, built with carefully selected NOS transistors for a raw, vintage tone.

NOS Philips OC44, 2x NOS Texas Instruments 2N1305 (Military Spec)

This is more than a pedal it’s an artifact of sound. Aggressive, saturated fuzz with rich harmonics. Each individual unit is uniquely hand finished, built for those who demand more than the ordinary.”

In my experience with this Zonk, Wolf Devices‘s description of this unit is accurate.
This is a raw, “dry“, “very aggressive“, high gain fuzz pedal. You will not get any clean up to the tone when rolling back your guitars volume with this fuzz. With your guitar at full volume this fuzz is high gain with little sustain. As up roll your guitars volume down you instantly get less and less sustain and stability to your notes until it’s not much more than a crackle around 2-3 on your guitar volume. I find that the louder your amp is, you proportionally get slightly more sustain out of the notes.

Personally, I find that the Zonk Machine MK1 circuit isn’t one that I tend to vibe with. For that reason I am passing this one on to try other fuzz units. I hope this one can find a loving home.

The Wolf Machine runs on 9v battery only as all 60s fuzz circuits should.

(The last photo shows the 2 screws that can be removed to easily access the internal battery clip without having to completely open up the enclosure)

(will ship without battery)

I will ship via UPS with insurance.
