Some guitars carry a story before you ever play a note, and the Martin 0-10E Retro Jason Isbell arrives with a great one. Inspired by Jason's own 1940 Martin 0-17 — the very guitar he used to record Foxes in the Snow, his stunning solo album — this Road Series signature distills something rare: the warm, honest, unadorned voice of an all-mahogany parlor guitar with nothing to prove and everything to say. The Interstellar Tone Traveler has always believed that some of the most profound sonic journeys happen on the smallest ships, and the 0-body is about as intimate as it gets. Solid mahogany top, back, and sides wrapped in a satin Dark Mahogany finish give this guitar the kind of woody warmth and focused midrange punch that sits perfectly in a sparse, acoustic mix — or alone in a room at two in the morning with just you and your thoughts.

The Style 17-inspired appointments keep things beautifully simple — no binding, no flash, just East Indian rosewood accents at the bridge, heel cap, and headplate, Old Style 17 White Boltaron dot inlays, and a single ring fiber rosette that feels period-correct and quietly elegant. Scalloped spruce X-bracing keeps the solid top responsive and clear even as the mahogany does its warm, pillowy work below, and the Performing Artist neck on a 24.9" scale makes this one of the most comfortable guitars in the Martin lineup to simply sit down and play. Martin E1 electronics mean you can take this intimate voice to the stage, and it ships strung with strings developed in collaboration with Isbell himself. For writers, for storytellers, for players who believe less is always more — this one's for you.
