This is a 2006 Duesenberg Double Cat 12 string semi hollow guitar in discontinued Fire Burst. Chambered alder body topped in maple and all German engineering. Original Rickenbacker style slotted headstock.

Here are the upgrades:

1. Authentic Duesenberg 12 saddle bridge added for dead perfect intonation!!! You‘ll typically have a problem with the octave G string, especially when capoed (but I play Hotel California so it had to be perfect). It only needed a very light touch on the PLEK machine when we changed out the bridge.

2. Custom made Gemini 1963 Rick clone toaster pickups, hand wound for this guitar in NYC. As close as you‘re going to get short of finding a set of actual vintage Rick pickups. NOTE: Duesenberg uses a P90 style pickup in a humbucker format, which is a weird thing and I never found the tone usable. P90 tone requires a P90 pickup shape for the correct bobbin winding.

3. Push-Push pot to engage .0047 capacitor to cut neck pickup volume (to mimic the actual vintage circuit) or the current modern Rick circuit. Original Ricks had a pickup blender pot to balance the neck volume but I didn’t want to alter the Duesenberg pickguard layout. The Volume pot is 250k and the Tone pot is 500k. 4. Griggs 4 position switch wiring, Both pickups in parallel (which is the standard wiring for two pickups on at the same time), Front pickup, Rear pickup, Both pickups in series (great volume/near humbucker tone).

5. Frets seated and Pleked to perfection by Andy Elliott of Elliott Guitars (Peter Stroud/Sheryl Crow). Note that this is a three hour process, not how they run them through at the factory.

It really is in excellent shape but I’m listing it as very good solely because of a bit of fret wear, nothing you can feel, and some tiny swirls here and there with just a bit of patina. No dings or dents on the body. The strings are brand new and the frets have been polished.

Comes with original Duesenberg hard case in excellent condition.
