Gretsch's "FSR (Factory Special Run)" is a special series that is made to order by Japanese dealers and is distributed and sold only in Japan.

The Penguin is a top-of-the-line chambered body model, with luxury adornments. This particular guitar is a limited edition "G6134MC FSR Motor City Penguin," which aims to fuse 1950s American car design aesthetics with the Penguin model. The color is Motor Pink, and it was manufactured in 2014. The guitar weighs approximately 3.28 kg.

The arched section is made of laminated maple, and the body is of chambered mahogany. A mahogany neck sports an ebony fingerboard and is fitted with 22 frets and Dynasonic pickups.

The control configuration consists of three volume knobs (front, rear, and master), a master tone, and a 3-way pickup selector. It has the Cadillac tailpiece with a G logo and a Synchro-Sonic bridge.

The hardware also shows a commitment to American cars, with jewel-encrusted G-logo knobs and distinctive silver sparkle binding. Penguin guitars typically feature gold hardware, a matching headstock, and gold binding, so this combination is unusual. The overall design is unified in white and silver accentuated by chrome hardware and a dusky pink finish giving it a very unique appearance overall. This particular iteration of the Penguin was manufactured in small quantities and is no longer available making it a rarity.

When examining a truss rod on a straight neck, we check that it can turn up to about 45 degrees in both directions. When we say the truss rod can be adjusted, we mean it can be adjusted up to 45 degrees. Anything beyond that risks damaging the instrument.
