Likely early 1960s.
This is a Kalamazoo made example featuring several characteristics associated with earlier production units:
• Removable threaded string pins with hex-socket retainers.
• Countersunk mounting holes
• Original black paint remnants in the Bigsby logo
• Kaydon Made in USA bearings
• Sand cast aluminium frame.
The unit is stamped “Made in US” and retains both Kaydon bearing races.
Condition:
- Original sand-cast aluminium frame
- Removable threaded string pins present with no wig or play
- Kaydon bearings fitted
- Original black logo paint remnants visible
- Beautiful patina, cosmetic wear, oxidation and age-related marks
- Mechanically smooth and functioning correctly
A great piece for a period-correct restoration, vintage Fender, Gretsch or Gibson project, or for the collector of early Bigsby hardware.
