The left-handed version of the Made in Japan Traditional Series 70s Telecaster Custom returns as a limited-production FSR (Factory Special Run) model, carrying on Fender’s classic heritage while incorporating authentic vintage-inspired details throughout.
This model has long been a favorite among Telecaster enthusiasts thanks to its unique combination of crisp single-coil bite and the thick, smooth character of a humbucker. It features a vintage-style Telecaster single-coil pickup in the bridge position and a Fender-designed Wide-Range Humbucking pickup in the neck position. Independent volume and tone controls for each pickup, along with a 3-way toggle switch, allow for quick and versatile tonal changes.
The guitar features an ash body paired with a maple U-shaped neck designed in the spirit of the MIJ series. Additional specifications include a 41mm bone nut and a 9.5" radius maple fingerboard. Vintage-inspired features such as the headstock-adjust truss rod for easy neck adjustments and the Micro-Tilt neck adjustment system have also been faithfully recreated. Iconic 1970s Fender appointments include the black-and-gold outlined modern logo, the three-bolt neck plate with the stamped "F" logo, and vintage-style tuner covers.
Among left-handed Made in Japan Fender reissues, this model has been one of the most anticipated returns alongside the Jaguar, Jazzmaster, and Mustang. As a limited-production model, availability is expected to be limited, so interested players and collectors should act quickly.
