A very rare, near impossible to find, early first production run (2003) Heritage Super KB (Kenny Burrell model), built in Kalamazoo and finished in Antique Natural / Amber Blonde nitrocellulose lacquer with a stunning book-matched tiger maple back and quarter sawn neck..

This instrument is factory labelled No. 006 and retains its original internal Kalamazoo label, hand-signed by ‘Kenny Burrell’, confirming its early-run association within the artist-linked specification period of the model.

Commissioned through Jay Wolfe Guitars, this example includes the original build sheet and build card, confirming a purpose-ordered, high-spec configuration rather than a standard production instrument.

The guitar features an 18” lower bout carved archtop body, 25 1/2” scale length, and 3” body depth. Construction includes a solid hand-carved quartersawn spruce top, solid hand-carved book-matched tiger flame maple back and sides, extended Florentine cutaway, tiger flame maple neck with walnut center stripes, solid ebony fingerboard with pearl inlays, abalone headstock logo, 5-ply body and neck binding, bound F-holes, solid bone nut, and fully parallel-braced carved construction.

Hardware is original gold throughout, including Grover Super Rotomatic tuners, micro-adjusting finger tailpiece, adjustable ebony bridge with inlaid foot, 5-ply bound flame maple pickguard, and volume/tone controls, with bell knobs, and 3-way selector switch.

Fitted with original HRW pickups, confirmed by the HRW certificate card and dot selector switch tip, these pickups are highly regarded for their warm, articulate jazz voice. They deliver a rich rounded low end, smooth vocal-like midrange, soft articulate highs without harshness, and excellent dynamic response and touch sensitivity. Slightly hotter than traditional PAF-style pickups, they provide added presence while maintaining a natural, expressive character ideal for jazz, bebop, and chord-melody playing. Original HRW-equipped examples with documentation are increasingly sought after by Heritage players and collectors.

This instrument sits within an early Super KB production period associated with the artist-signed specification run, while being independently numbered No. 006. It features an internal factory label hand-signed by Kenny Burrell, original Jay Wolfe build sheet and build card, factory HRW pickup specification with certificate, and early-run numbering. This combination of documented provenance and specification places it firmly in the upper tier of Heritage archtop production.

A highly responsive professional jazz archtop delivering warm carved spruce resonance, rich piano-like low end, smooth singing treble response, fast articulate attack, and excellent dynamic control for chord melody and single-note jazz lines.

This guitar has been lovingly cherished, very lightly played and in near un-played condition. Presenting with very minor handling marks consummate with its age and no visible fret wear.

Strung with medium gauge flatwound strings (.012–.052) with balanced jazz setup and adjustable ebony bridge.

Original Heritage deluxe crushed velvet arched hard shell case included.

A very rare opportunity to to acquire a fully documented early-run Heritage Super KB combining artist-signed lineage, HRW pickup specification, and verified custom build provenance from a ‘Golden Build Period’, not seen on the vintage market place.

Significantly appreciating in value due to custom order only and very limited production release of 50 guitars, making this ‘Heritage’ model, with provenance of No 6, highly desirable to Collectors, Investors and discerning Stage players .

Not only a truly stellar guitar but a very sound investment piece.
