The Martin D-12E Retro blends classic dreadnought power with modern playability and stage-ready electronics. Built with a solid spruce top and solid sapele back and sides, it offers a warm, balanced voice supported by strong low-end presence and clear mids. The full-body gloss finish adds richness to the guitar’s visual character while enhancing tonal depth and resonance. Scalloped X-bracing increases responsiveness, allowing the instrument to project confidently whether strummed or flatpicked.
A Performing Artist neck with a high-performance taper ensures an easy-to-play feel across the fingerboard, while vintage-inspired touches—including old-style dot inlays, a multi-stripe rosette, and nickel open-gear tuners—evoke Martin’s Style 18 heritage. Outfitted with Martin E1 electronics, a built-in tuner, and a softshell case, the D-12E Retro is designed to support players onstage, in the studio, and everywhere in between.
