I haven't looked at this guitar in a long time, and am surprised at how great the condition is considering it's 25 years old and I used to play this alot. This was my first 'nice' electric guitar, and it served me well for about 10 years, by which time I had accumulated more guitars and lost interest in this one.
So in 2011 I thought an upgrade was in order to restore my affinity for this guitar, which has a super smooth maple neck. I installed Lollar pick-ups: Jason's Regal ‘Wide-Range’ humbucker in the neck; and his Lollar B.S. Tele at the bridge (check the Lollar website for more information).
The problem was the tech who did the installation made a mistake with the grounding of the humbucker, so there's a noticeable 60 cycle hum that shouldn't be there. I had this looked at again recently, and they suggested a more expert technician could address the grounding issue, that the pick-ups should be fine (as they were brand new when installed), but that this may require a total re-wire to find the exact fault causing the noise due to the complexity of the circuit. Rather than spend even more money to do this, I'm offering this guitar as-is, and am including the original Fender pick-ups should the next owner want to throw those in there. I've since moved on to other guitars, and don't want to spend more time on this one; but I'm sure there's a player out there that can appreciate this offer given the inclusion of the Lollars; which I shouldn't need to explain, are expensive, as Jason perhaps makes the best pick-ups in the world.
Condition-wise, there are very few defects: a tiny nick at the top of the headstock, a small paint crack at the bottom of the cutaway, a tiny ding on the side of the guitar; but the pictures I took can't even really show these nearly imperceptible faults (there's no buckle rash at all).
Comes with the Fender gig bag and original factory pick-ups.
