The Nick Lucas is one of Gibson’s most iconic acoustic designs, featuring a deeper body than a traditional L-00. The result is a remarkably responsive small-body guitar with impressive volume, projection, bass response, and clarity. This Murphy Lab reissue combines vintage-inspired construction with Gibson’s light aging treatment for the look and feel of a well-preserved original.
Features include a thermally aged Adirondack red spruce top, mahogany back and sides, traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing, rosewood fingerboard with Mother of Pearl Nick Lucas inlays, gold Waverly tuners with ivoroid buttons, 24.75” scale length, and 1.73” nut width.
This guitar has been professionally upgraded with a James May Ultra Tonic V3 pickup system, one of the most natural-sounding passive acoustic pickup systems available. A strap button was also professionally installed at the heel.
