Siemens / Telefunken V72 Tube Microphone Preamps (4 Modules) 1950’s - Gray/Red Custom Rack System

Four Siemens/Telefunken V72 tube microphone preamps, configured as two stereo pairs in custom rack enclosures with custom power supplies and a fitted road case.

These were purchased from a friend approximately 12 years ago. The custom housings, power supplies, phantom power implementation, and additional switching modifications were already completed when I purchased them, and I do not know who performed the work.

The units have been extremely reliable in my studio and have always functioned properly. I primarily used them as drum overhead preamps with a stereo pair of Coles ribbon microphones, where they delivered the classic V72 sound—big, rich, detailed, and full of character.

Condition

All four preamps are fully functional and working as intended.

Cosmetically, they show normal wear consistent with age and studio use. A couple of the plastic gain knob caps are loose and can slip or pull off. They simply need to be reattached and do not affect operation or performance.

These are serious vintage German tube preamps and would make an excellent addition to a professional recording studio or vintage microphone preamp collection.
