Up for sale, a 2012 Gibson Custom Shop 50th Anniversary Dove Limited Edition in near-mint, 100% original condition, complete with the original hardshell case, COA, and hangtags. A true-to-spec vintage reissue, this Dove was crafted in Bozeman, Montana in very limited quantities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of one of Gibson’s most enduring designs.
Delivering X-braced square shoulder dreadnought muscle and punch, this Dove features a Sitka spruce top, flame maple back/sides, a three-piece maple neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard. Immediate and lively with tons of projection on tap, the sound is bright yet full, much emblematic of the tonewood selection and a top that’s had over a decade to open up. There’s a gutsy vitality and taut snap to the wound strings, with plenty of headroom, and the trebles yield a percussive sparkle. Weighing 4lbs 13oz, this Custom Shop 50th Anniversary Dove Limited Edition has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The gloss nitro lacquer finish highlights the tight figuring in the flame maple, exhibiting subtle vertical checking on the back. There is one professionally repaired split on top at the treble-side lower bout, and cosmetic wear is limited to just a few tiny nicks on the body. The gloss nitro lacquer on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Gibson-branded hardshell case, COA, and hangtags are included.
