This is an early 80’s Japanese Fender Squier “ST-72”. Fender Japan built these to look like an earlier model Fender Stratocaster. These guitars are noted for their build-quality, and this one is no exception. Bullet truss rod, large headstock, period-correct decals, faded white (cream-colored) body, rosewood fretboard, vintage 7.25” radius. It’s a fantastic guitar for the money. I‘ve had Squiers and Fenders of this exact model and I think they are actually the same: neck dimensions, finish, tuners, pickups…all the same. This one has all the patina of a guitar that’s been around a long time—-dings, nicks, fading, etc…it’s a beautiful vintage instrument.
