African Wasamba Rattle
- Design: Consists of a main wooden handle with a perpendicular or loop connector that holds about 4 to 10 perforated, flat calabash (gourd) discs.
- Sound: Produces a very loud, sharp, high-pitched clacking sound that is reminiscent of Spanish castanets, capable of cutting through loud, bass-heavy drum ensembles.
- How to Play: It is played with quick up-and-down motions. The rapid action causes the gourd slices to slide up and down the connector, striking each other to create crisp rhythmic accents
