Important note, the boss specific power supply is not included and pedal is not designed to work with 9v supply. This pedal will not work with a typical 9v power supply as it requires DC closer to 12v, hence the note that requires the specific boss power supply. In order not to experiment with power supplies or damage anything I just used a battery the whole time and it sounds great, so please do your research to avoid frying this piece of history).
Whether you’re into metal, shoegaze or otherwise this pedal sounds like a chainsaw. It’s more versatile than it appears if you take your time with the settings. I marked it as good because of the wear on the paint finish from age and the pots are a little scratchy (just slight crackles when turning but not when knobs are still) but this is a vintage piece so I’m sure whoever is specifically seeking this version out knows what to expect, so besides being a little scratchy when dialing it functions just fine. I am hoping that people who play offensively loud weird music will buy this and get good use from it.
"According to Michael Astley-Brown of Guitar World, compared to the other distortion pedals, the pedal offered 'radically versatile low and high ‘Color Mix’ EQ controls with 20 dB of boost/cut.'"
