This Gretsch Country Gentleman was made in the USA in 1961. It is a rare transitional version and we have not seen another like it. It has a thin body and single cutaway which is typical of 1961, but also the double mutes which this model did not receive until 1962, at which time the model also transitioned to a double cutaway guitar. The guitar shows normal play wear, but no structural damage. There is some damage to the binding, which is typical of all Gretsch guitars, but this one is not too bad compared to others. When we got it the back pad was shredded but our local tailor was able to mend it using the original trim. The neck angle is fine and the guitar is very playable. It has been pro-setup in our store and comes with the original case.
