The Zoom 1201 (also known as the Zoom Studio 1201) is a rackmount digital multi-effects processor released in 1997, built around 18-bit DSP running at 44.1 kHz with 64x A/D and 8x D/A oversampling. It houses 363 preset effect patterns across three banks, covering a wide range of effect types including hall, room, plate, gated and reverse reverbs, chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, Leslie simulation, delay, pitch shifting, ring modulation, auto-wah, lo-fi bit reduction, vocal distortion, and a karaoke vocal remover. A notable inclusion for its era is an 11/18-band vocoder, which uses the stereo inputs to route separate carrier and modulator signals. The unit accepts stereo jack inputs and outputs, plus a bypass footswitch input, and is controlled via four knobs and two rotary bank/program selectors. There is no MIDI connectivity and no user patch storage, keeping operation straightforward and hands-on.
A great opportunity to own a Zoom 1201 at this price point.
