Here we have a beautiful Mapex Saturn Series snare 14×5.5 maple/walnut with a Black lacquer finish (I believe it is called Espresso Walnut!) It is in excellent to near mint condition and I have taken great care of it since buying it around 2010. I put a Remo Controlled Sound batter and Ambassador snare side heads on it, but still has the stock wires.
It is a fantastic sounding snare, and has the 2.3mm hoops, enabling the drum fantastic cross-sticking without going out of tune. I would still own it except I found a similarly excellent quality one that matches my dark cherry finish Mapex Saturn kit!
Professional, higher end snare drum with dual tension adjustments well. Bottom hoop includes snare guards as well.
