Studer REVOX A77 reel-to-reel tape recorder, in very good condition, made in Germany in 1973. It is a stereo recording device and this MK III is the "4 Track" version, that is, it records on 4 tracks. This model includes the two "plugin" amplification cards (an original extra) which have been serviced! Therefore, it only needs to be connected to 2 speakers, without the need for amplification!

The Revox is sold without reels.

It is probably the most reliable reel-to-reel recorder of its time. Way ahead of its time and of a super robust construction, so much so that it was nicknamed "panzer". Revolutionary recorder with 3 independent motors, forward speed, reverse speed and capstan. It also has the option for using 12", 18" and 24" inch reels and with two possible speeds 3 1/4 and 7 1/2, with the respective speed being adjustable to the reel in question.

Robert Fripp, the famous guitarist from King Crimson, uses two Revox A77s in his Frippertronics project to create a loop/echo system. Guitarist Allan Holdsworth, from the group Soft Machine, also uses an A77 at the beginning of the song "Hazard Profile Part 1" as an intro effect.

It was completely overhauled and serviced by a specialized technician. Maintenance was required to address the 40 years the device has been in use; all electrolytic capacitors were replaced, among many other things. Regarding the Revox's maintenance, it is 100% functional and ready for professional use and recording.

+Maintenance: -Cleaned, aligned, and tuned the heads (azimuth)

-Heads demagnetized with a professional demagnetizer
-New 626 bearing -Internally cleaned, oiled, and tuned (including coil braking).

-Relays for the motor control system have been rebuilt.

-New end-of-tape indicator lamp.

-Potentiometers cleaned.

-Replacement of capacitors on all boards, including the 2x power plugin cards.
