The Paiste 900 Series is built from CuSn8 B8 bronze — the same alloy Paiste has used in their 2002 line for decades — and manufactured in Switzerland using a combination of pneumatic and hand hammering with hand-turned lathing. The Heavy Ride is the most assertive cymbal in the 900 lineup: a thick, dense bow with a massive bell that produces a bright, pronounced ping over a controlled warm wash. It projects well in loud settings without washing out or losing definition, and the bell cuts through clearly regardless of what the rest of the band is doing. This is a ride built for players who need to be heard.
The special dark finish highlights the lathing grooves and hammer marks and gives the cymbal a look that is a little more raw and textured than a standard brilliant. It holds up well and ages gracefully.
This one is in excellent condition. There are a few light stick marks consistent with regular play — no keyhole, no chips, no dings. A clean, ready-to-play example.
