Unlike the originals and some of the earlier reissues with the wood saddle, taped, basically cardboard sides, this 56 Pro (thanks, Al) version of the U-2 has an adjustable, metal bridge, aluminum nut, and closed sides; so it feels way less flimsy and cheap. The chunky, flat neck, together with the low-output, lipstick pick-ups make this a good option for slide guitar players. Very lightweight (6 lbs, 12 oz) and comfortable to play. Unusual color combination with the white body and black, bolt-on neck. Some nicks on the headstock, the transparent pick-guard has been doing its job, but overall in good shape.
The 56 Pro was a limited-edition 2005 production run of 3000 instruments, with 500 made in this color, Malt Shop Cream.
