Up for sale is a very cool and quite rare 1963 Eko Model 100 archtop acoustic guitar in its original translucent amber finish. Made in Italy during the golden era of quirky and visually striking European instrument production, this Model 100 captures that unmistakable mid-century Italian aesthetic with its oversized pearloid pickguard, lightweight construction, and warm vintage vibe. These early Eko archtops have become increasingly collectible over the years, especially clean and well-preserved examples like this one.

We just gave it a pro set up with a set of 11-52 gauge strings so it plays amazingly well with a straight neck, comfortable action, and accurate intonation. It’s incredibly lightweight and resonant acoustically, weighing in at only 4lbs 12.3oz. The neck has a substantial vintage feel without being cumbersome and the guitar is simply a blast to play.

Condition is very good overall. There are light swirl marks and surface scratches in the clear coat from handling and cleaning over the years, but the guitar is extremely well kept overall. The most notable cosmetic issue is the presence of several large finish cracks in the lacquer. These can appear at first glance to be cracks in the wood, but they are strictly finish checking within the thick clear coat lacquer and are purely cosmetic in nature. This type of lacquer checking is quite common on vintage Italian instruments from this era due to the heavy finish application Eko used during production. The frets are very clean with no discernible wear.

The tailpiece has been replaced at some point in the guitar’s life. Otherwise, the guitar appears to retain its original components.
