This is a great sounding 1968 PRE ROLA Celestion G12H Greenback speaker with an old Pulsonic Cone.

These would make an amazing replacement for any Marshall 2x12 or 4x12 cabinet or in any BluesBreaker etc.!!!

** All our speakers are tested and guaranteed to work perfectly **

The speaker is in great nick and has a super rare 98700 cone! When asked the no.1 specialist about it, his answer was: "Most likely an old recone in my opinion, but I guess there is a chance it could be original. You would have to have a look at the glue around the spider support area and check for evidence of two different types of glue being used. However they might have cleaned all the original glue off when / if they did a recone. Whenever Celestion seemed to run out of Pulsonic cones they seemed to opt for the RIC cones as plan B. I guess the 98700 cones could have been plan C though if the RIC cones weren't available.  Nobody seems to know who made those 98700 cones."

Info researched by bygonetones: "These are very rare cones and were only used for a short period. They can usually be found on creamback speakers made between May and July 1974 – with date stamps EG, FG, or GG. Very little is known about them, but I can tell you they are some of the nicest cones you can find and are well worth looking out for. Please do not dismiss them as recones. The tone is slightly less mid focused than the pulsonics, so a bit flatter sounding, but still a very nice smooth & fluid tone, not harsh or gritty."

The cone is in great shape, nice and crisp. Perfect acoustic sound when tapped, amazing rock tones. Has a tiny repair on the outside of the cone rim as most have, nothing serious and it doesn't affect the tone. Very nice sounding speaker – louder than the G12M and more ‘boomy’, but less compressed and more fluid. Strong in the upper mid range. No cone rub, no shizzle, no fizzle. Runs very smoothly and sound just great!

The T1217 is easily the most common G12H model from the 70’s. It was the stock speaker with many UK brands in the 1970’s such as Orange, Carlsbro and Marshall.
