Available for purchase is an Electro-Voice 654A microphone from 1974, which is a fantastic sounding dynamic omnidirectional microphone! Finding one of these so well kept is not always easy, I've had quite a few recently that have either been dead or simply not sounding right. This 654A not only sounds the part but it also looks great so buy it with confidence.
The capsule inside is also pristine and any debris was removed prior to replacing the foam. With the original capsule in such great shape, this microphone should be able to last another 50 without any trouble. Typically after so many years, old foam, and metal debris can find its way onto the capsule and wreck the frequency response. That is not something you will have to worry about buying this one compared to others listed, along with the other cons that come with old foam such as bad odors. Lastly, the 654A uses a standard XLR connector just like you would find on a 635A, which is perfect for modern interfaces especially with it being low impedance.
