Overview: This is an essentially-new partscaster made with an MJT (lightly relic'd) alder body in Fiesta Red nitro finish and a modern-style Warmoth neck with the side-adjust truss mini-trim (I tend to not use that and just use the "butt" main rod nut). The neck is quick and fast and it's got bigger frets and a compound radius -- it's got a very modern feel and so if you like bending up high but the chordal feel of a '60s guitar down low, it's a good choice. It even has Luminlay side dots (I love these) so you're ready to go on a dark stage.
The pickups are a set of Fralin Steel Pole 43s so they've definitely got some P90 growly-grunt mixed into that narrower-field Strat clarity. It's a nice choice and sets the guitar apart from all the other Strat-style toys in the shop at the moment. The wiring is interesting, too, as it has a master tone and volume control plus a Fralin blender pot.
The tuners are fancy Hipshot Grip-Locks and it has a Graphtech nut for ease-of-use with the trem. The trem itself is a vintage-style Wilkinson mount with 6 screws but the saddles are these cool spring-steel, lock-in-place affairs. I like them a lot and I think it's a nice way to get the sound of the thinner, vintage-style saddles without the irritation of springs and loosening-up mounts. I think those old stamped saddles definitely give a "Strattier" sound compared to bigger-block, modern ones.
Repairs included: I just gave this a light setup. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.
