BEAG MD-14N Pro XLR Mod (Vintage Czech Dynamic Microphone)
Vintage BEAG MD-14N dynamic microphone made in Hungary by Budapesti Elektroakusztikai Gyár (BEAG). Originally designed for close-proximity PA and announcement applications in schools, factories and public transport systems across the Eastern Bloc, these little mics later gained a cult following among harmonica players and recording enthusiasts for their surprisingly aggressive, mid-forward sound.
This one has been professionally modified with a modern XLR output, making it immediately usable with contemporary interfaces, mixers and mic preamps — no weird Tuchel/DIN adapters or custom cables required.
Compact all-metal construction with serious vintage industrial design energy. Low impedance dynamic capsule with hot output and a very direct, focused character. Works especially well on guitar cabinets, harmonica, spoken word, lo-fi vocals, percussion and experimental recording setups.
