Comments:
The Les Paul Junior was originally launched in 1954 as an affordable, student-tier instrument. It stripped away ornate features in favor of a slab mahogany body and a single, raw P-90 pickup. In 2015, Gibson completely overhauled its core lineup to honor the 100th anniversary of Les Paul’s birth (born 1915). Instead of the traditional silkscreened cursive logo, the front of the headstock features a unique facsimile signature script reading "Les Paul 100" to mark the anniversary. The back of the headstock features a small, distinctive biometric hologram of Les Paul himself, taken from one of his final photographs, ensuring authentic verification. While the model was factory-equipped with a G-Force automatic tuning system (formerly Min-ETune), many guitarists preferred manual tuning, so it is very common to find these 2015 models retrofitted with aftermarket traditional tuners. This one was retro-fitted with Gibson Deluxe tuners.
