PRS SE Flat Back Hollowbody I Piezo Electric Guitar – Lake Blue | No Limit Guitar Co, Idaho Falls

The PRS SE Flat Back Hollowbody I Piezo is a genuinely versatile hollowbody electric that blurs the line between electric and acoustic performance. Built on a fully hollow mahogany body with a maple top and a flat, contoured back, it plays with the familiar comfort of a solidbody while delivering the open, resonant voice of a hollowbody. With both 85/15 "S" humbuckers and a proprietary PRS/LR Baggs piezo system on board, this guitar covers an extraordinary range of tones in a single instrument — making it an exceptional choice for intermediate through professional players across virtually any genre.

Product Overview

The SE Flat Back Hollowbody I Piezo features a fully hollow mahogany body with a violin-carved maple top and a distinctively flat back — a thoughtful departure from the arched-back hollowbodies of the past. The flat back sits naturally against the body like a solidbody guitar, making the transition effortless for players who've spent most of their time on traditional electric guitars. The high-gloss poly finish in Lake Blue gives this guitar a sophisticated, contemporary look that stands out on stage and in the studio. Total weight comes in at a comfortable 6.80 lbs.

The maple neck wears PRS's Wide Fat carve — a fuller, more substantial profile that sits firmly in the hand and provides a stable platform for both chording and single-note work. The 25" scale rosewood fingerboard has a 10" radius and 22 frets, striking a comfortable balance between chord-friendly curvature and lead-friendly playability. PRS's iconic bird inlays run the length of the neck, and the set-neck joint promotes excellent resonance transfer and sustain from the fully hollow body.

Electronically, this guitar delivers two completely distinct sonic worlds. The PRS 85/15 "S" humbuckers — a matched neck and bridge pair designed for enhanced warmth and clarity at high output — cover everything from vintage-inspired cleans to aggressive rock tones with a simple turn of the Volume and Tone controls. The proprietary piezo system, developed in collaboration with LR Baggs, provides natural, amplified acoustic tones through a dedicated Piezo Volume control, allowing players to blend electric and acoustic voices or switch seamlessly between them.

Ideal For

• Working musicians who need both electric and acoustic tones from a single, stage-ready instrument
• Singer-songwriters and acoustic players looking for the familiarity of a solidbody feel with hollowbody resonance and piezo capability
• Jazz, blues, and indie players drawn to the open, warm voicing of a fully hollow construction
• Intermediate to advanced guitarists ready to invest in a multi-tonal electric guitar that handles studio and live performance with equal confidence
• PRS enthusiasts in Idaho Falls looking for a distinctive, feature-rich hollowbody in the SE lineup

Key Features

Fully Hollow Mahogany Body with Flat Back The hollow mahogany construction with violin-carved maple top produces an extra-resonant, open tone, while the flat back design ensures solidbody players feel immediately at home — no awkward adjustment period required.

PRS/LR Baggs Proprietary Piezo System Developed through a collaborative effort between PRS and LR Baggs, the built-in piezo pickup delivers natural, amplified acoustic tones through a dedicated volume control — giving players two instruments in one without the need for additional hardware or external preamps.

85/15 "S" Humbuckers PRS's 85/15 "S" pickups are voiced for enhanced warmth and clarity at high output, covering vintage-tinged cleans, full mid-range rhythm tones, and articulate lead playing with equal authority across the full tonal spectrum.

Wide Fat Neck Carve The maple Wide Fat neck profile provides a substantial, hand-filling feel that inspires confidence in both rhythm and lead playing — especially for players who prefer a neck with a bit more depth behind the fretboard.

Dual-Source Electronics with Independent Volume Controls Separate Volume controls for the magnetic pickups and the piezo system allow players to dial in the precise blend of electric and acoustic tone, or run each source independently to a separate amplifier or direct input for advanced live or studio setups.
