Gibson / 1964-65 Heritage Custom

[Comment from the person in charge: Hoshino]

The "Heritage Custom" is a particularly rare model among Gibson guitars.

Many people might be reminded of the Martin D-28 when they see its appearance, right?

The J-45, which appeared in 1942, the Hummingbird, which appeared in 1960, and the Dove, which appeared in 1962, are all famous instruments used in solo performances and band sounds. From the 1950s to the 1960s, the American folk music boom flourished, and the emergence of singers like Bob Dylan and Peter, Paul and Mary undoubtedly inspired and influenced many players.

One guitar that played a major role in the folk boom was the Martin D-28.

Its body, a combination of spruce and rosewood, offered a well-balanced sound and rich tone, which quickly made it popular.

I imagine that Gibson probably aimed to create a guitar combining spruce and rosewood, inspired by the Martin D-28.

Let's take a look at some of Gibson's hidden gems.

—The vibrant grain of the Brazilian rosewood

The sides and back are made of Brazilian rosewood with a beautiful grain.

The simple decoration, consisting only of tortoiseshell binding, allows you to truly appreciate the beautiful grain of the Brazilian rosewood.

Round Shoulder Top

The top wood, with its square shoulders similar to the Hummingbird and Dove, is made of fine-grained spruce and features tortoiseshell binding.
The rosette uses the double ring design adopted for the J-45 since 1963.

-Pickguard

The black pickguard, reminiscent of the Epiphone Texan, stands out against the natural color.

-Fingerboard

The ebony fretboard features mother-of-pearl flower inlays and dot position markers.

Bridge

The large ebony bridge, reminiscent of a ribbon silhouette, is set with ivy inlays and a short saddle.

Headstock

The large headstock features the Gibson modern logo, cactus inlays, and ivy inlays.

The 2-piece truss rod cover is engraved with "Heritage."

—Tuning Machine

Equipped with KLUSON waffleback tuners.

Nickel keystone buttons enhance its stylish appearance.

The Heritage Custom, a rare Gibson model, is a rare find on the market.

Don't miss this opportunity to try it out!
